Life is good. Scrumptiously good. What with my mom being around and good food back on the table. We had a bunch of friends over for an Indian Chinese meal yesterday and for the first time the food got over. Mom usually cooks buckets and we send folks home with doggie bags, not this time. Since most of the kids are grown up enough to join us at the table we didn't figure them into the how-much-is-plenty equation. I still thought there was plenty but mom gets upset when there is not enough for the 5th round, uh hello! Tara had a blast in the
company of the
bigger toddlers and was completely enamoured by 9-month old cutie
Dhania. She kept calling her
bebe and trying to give her high fives.

Tara is 15 months. It's hard to believe but it's true. We went for her well-baby check up and she's at a whopping 24.5 pounds (the last two gained since mom got here) and 31.5inches, don't ask me what percentile that is frankly I don't remember and care at this point. She got 3 shots which is still causing quite a bit of pain (thank you bubble-gum flavored Motrin). Doc asked me if she says at least 15 words? While I was mentally counting (more, no, fish, bye ...) Doc hands Tara a paper cup and she announces with great gusto CUPPY. Doc was most impressed. Tara demonstrated her back 'n' forth walking ability too. Just when you think she's gonna come to your out-stretched hands and give you a big hug she takes 10 steps forward and 15 retracing steps back and lands on her ass.
Mr.S started his new job this week. Being an Indian company he didn't get the memo which said work doesn't start till after chai/samosa/chai say around 10ish. He was there bright and early at 8:15am only to be greeted by cigarette buds. He's off travelling again, again I say, again next week. The hellish commute is what I have to look forward too, again.

The weather has started to improve out here and the sun actually stays out for an extended period. We took Tara to the
beach today but by the time we found a parking spot 30 minutes later the clouds had set it. She wanted to walk on her own especially on the sand which was pretty comical as she kept doing a face plant in the sand. Oh, if you haven't noticed I've created a new
photo album for your viewing pleasure.

Congrats on the walking. Or maybe condolences are in order? I feel as though our lives have become incredibly stressful since Theo started walking. It was so much easier when he just crawled around. Now he wants to climb up on everything. We got TWO calls from day care today saying that he'd fallen and bonked his head.
And hey, if you ever need help finishing off any of your mom's cooking, you know who to call.
